A Canadian Reflection : Two Years And Counting

Our Canadian adventure begins with nervous steps into the unknown, where each day is a mix of hope and challenges. As we adjusted to this amazing country, we tackled hurdles with grit, turning them into victory stories. It’s about discovering who we are and how tough and loving we can be.

Ralph Waldo Emerson states, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

Living abroad is a mixed bag, right? When we learned we have to spend few years in Canada, it felt like an emotional rollercoaster. Chilling in Chennai, our nerves frays as the pandemic delaying our visa approvals, testing our patience and determination. Finally, as we prepared, we buzzed with excitement and mixed emotions, knowing we had to say goodbye to loved ones.

The moment we entered the airport, the brief moments we spent with family before completing the formalities can not be expressed which resonates with most people. Although we tried to keep ourselves busy intentionally, the emotional weight of leaving was unavoidable.

Boarding our flight and cruising felt like forever. Crossing multiple time zones, countries and continents and sitting inside the plane for more than 10 hours. Finally, we touched down and greeted by the fall seasonal sun in Canada. Going through the scrutinies at the airport was surprisingly easy marking the beginning of our Canadian experience.

Our Firsts At The Soil : A Canadian Reflection

Spending our first days jet lagged and completing formalities marked the start. We spent a week hunting for accommodation and eventually found a suburban place with the help of a fantastic realtor. From buying everything to assembling IKEA furniture, we settled in.

Before we knew it, we experienced our first Canadian winter, testing our resilience with temperatures below zero and snowstorms. After enduring the harsh winter, we welcomed spring with cherry blossoms and visits to tulip and strawberry farms. Then came the summer sun, allowing us to shed our winter jackets for shorts and flip flops. Visiting Niagara Falls for the first time was magical, as we paused to take in all its beauty.

Planning to visit family in India after over a year in Canada, the excitement of booking our tickets resonates with many. We flew out in winter, experienced the Indian summer, spent three weeks with loved ones, and returned to the grind. Finding our next accommodation was easy, and I became familiar with the new neighborhood. I began my fitness journey and started my blogging career in March 2023.

Myriad Of Beautiful Memories : Two Years And Counting

Experiencing an enchanting array of firsts, from relishing the company of our comrades under the breathtaking cherry blossoms to marveling at the vibrant fall foliage, exploring tantalizing new cuisines, and wandering through countless trails and hidden gems, we dove headfirst into new adventures.
