Permanent Or Temporary Who Can Say : Some Goodbyes Cant Be Simple

Some goodbyes https://www.niagarafallstourism.com/ slip off the tongue like whispers, while others cling to the heart. I felt no need to dissect the moment—the urgency of my departure spoke volumes. Welcome to “Permanent Or Temporary Who Can Say: Some Goodbyes Can’t Be Simple.”

I went, driven by an instinct deep within, compelled to honor the weight of the occasion. Now, I pour my thoughts onto this page not just as an observer but as someone profoundly touched by the experience.

Some Goodbyes Cant Be Simple : Permanent Or Temporary Who Can Say

We had long wanted to visit Niagara Falls one last time, but delays due to time, weather, and tiredness kept occurring. With our relocation to India approaching, we could no longer postpone it. So, we decided to take the trip on Saturday, 20th December 2025.

We woke up on Saturday feeling refreshed, finished our morning chores, and checked our weekend passes and routes. Realizing there were no direct transport options due to winter maintenance and construction, we didn’t hesitate. We packed what we needed, layered up, and stepped out.

We took the subway to Union Station, then straight to the food court for brunch at Paramount Fine Foods. After eating, we activated our GO Transit passes, waited at the platform, and boarded the Kitchener line. We got off at Bramalea GO, took a bus to Oakville GO, and arrived in about twenty-five to thirty minutes.

From Oakville GO, we took a train to Burlington GO, got down again, and boarded the final leg to Niagara Falls GO. This time, we got lucky. It was an express service with no stops. Every time we reach Niagara, it feels like luck follows us.

Upon Arriving At Niagara Falls Go : Some Goodbyes Cant Be Simple

Upon arriving at Niagara Falls GO, we found our old WEGO pass no longer worked. We bought a new one, boarded the WEGO Green South line, and got off near the falls. Despite the cold, it felt unseasonably warm for winter. The lighter crowd made our stroll easier as we snapped pictures and created memories.

We moved closer to the falls and grabbed hot beverages from Starbucks, standing there and letting the view sit with us. Niagara Parks was lit up with festive lights and decorations. We walked toward the spot where the water gathers force before plunging down. As we strolled, we noticed a new attraction and decided to check it out.

Table Rock For Niagara Takes Flight : Permanent Or Temporary Who Can Say

We went into Table Rock and bought tickets for Niagara Takes Flight. It covers about 56 kilometers of parkland, from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie, through a fully immersive flying theatre experience. The journey takes you over rapids, forests, rock faces, and moments of history, bringing you incredibly close to the Horseshoe Falls.

The experience began in the Ancestors Room, where elders shared creation stories rooted in Indigenous wisdom. I sensed something meaningful was unfolding. Then, we entered the Waterfall Room, which showcased key moments that shaped Niagara Falls. I was drawn to the architecture and how it reflected the movement of water.

Next came the Transporter. We stepped in and felt like we were descending deeply, even though we were still standing on solid ground. It gave us a preview of what was coming next. Then came the main experience. We placed our bags and jackets on the shelves, sat on flight-style seats, and buckled up like we would on a plane. Instructions were given. The lights went off.

The ride lasted about fifteen to twenty minutes. The seats lifted slightly, and the simulation began. It was scary, at least for me. We soared over Niagara Falls through different seasons, glided dangerously close to the Horseshoe Falls, and even passed over the power stations that keep everything running. When it ended and we returned to our original position, there was a quiet sense of pride and relief.

We Strolled To Inclined Railway To The Top : Some Goodbyes Cant Be Simple

After that, we walked to the inclined railway, reached the top, and strolled to Clifton Hill. We had dinner at Boston Pizza and returned to the bus stop. Just as we boarded the bus, fireworks began. We thought about getting down to watch them but realized we would miss the bus. So, we stayed seated and enjoyed the fireworks from the last row. It wasn’t planned, but it felt right.

We reached the GO bus terminal and waited for a long time. When we finally boarded the bus to Burlington GO and got down, the wait that followed felt like waiting after an Indian wedding lunch—tired, full, content, and just wanting to go home. Even the smell reminded me of wedding halls back in India

Our train was scheduled at 10:12 PM. We waited near the steps, boarded, and got down at Oakville GO. The plan was to take a bus to Bramalea GO and then a train to Union Station, followed by an Uber home. But luck showed up again. We boarded a GO bus without realizing it went directly to Union Station. Within half an hour, we were there.

We took a long walk toward Front Street. In all these three and a half years, despite countless visits to Union Station, this was our first time seeing the GO Bus Terminal side. It felt strange and new. Instead of taking an Uber, we boarded Line 1 and reached home around midnight. That’s where the day ended.

Writing this now makes us relive every part of it. Some places deserve a personal goodbye. For us, Niagara Falls is one such place. We wanted to go. We did. Whether that goodbye was permanent or temporary, who can say. But the memories will stay with us, quietly, for as long as we are here.
