Step into the B.M Birla Planetarium, and you’ll totally feel the vibe immediately! This place is filled with some seriously cool exhibits that are not just informative but also super impressive. But the best part? You’ve got to check out that amazing 360-degree dome theater!

The Dome Theater is the heart of the planetarium, where shows transport visitors through galaxies. As you settle into your seat, the lights dim, and the dome displays stars and celestial phenomena, creating an exhilarating and humbling sensation of the universe.

On July 31st 2022, we visited the Birla Planetarium with our comrades, and it was one of our best outings. The main show “Journey through the Universe” mesmerized us with stunning visuals and captivating narration, taking us through the cosmos, from the birth of stars to distant galaxies.

Beyond the main show, the planetarium had intriguing exhibits, including life-sized models of dinosaurs, elephants, a monkey, a deer, and a beetle. The displays were visually impressive and perfect for photographs, bringing the natural world to life. We also explored a pillar detailing Nipkow’s disc.

The interactive exhibits invite exploration through hands-on experiences that make complex astronomical concepts accessible and exciting. Learning about the life cycle of stars, from their birth to supernovae, and how telescopes reveal distant galaxies is fascinating.
