The world paused, a stillness overtaking everything when the pandemic struck. After applying for visas in 2021, time felt like an endless loop of waiting. We couldn’t move forward with uncertainty hovering over us. Each day whittled away at our hope, and every unfulfilled anticipation whispered: “Maybe we are not lucky enough.”

As months trudged on, the world began to move again. Shutters lifted, routines resumed, and life returned. Amid the brightness, a part of us felt tethered and hopeful. My cousin’s engagement brought laughter, but my aunt’s words lingered: “We’ll travel only after the wedding.” It was reassuring, yet I couldn’t shake the ache of uncertainty.

Joy surged in thrilling waves as we eagerly shared the incredible update with my in-laws. The wedding rolled on, lunch was served, and it was soon time to say our goodbyes. As we made our way from Coimbatore to Chennai, still in awe of everything, the story was far from over. I was scrolling through my phone, laughing like I’d just won the lottery. “Yours’s approved too!” I exclaimed, totally blown away, like fate finally decided to make up for all those quiet months with a fun surprise, one approval after another.
