As the clock ticked down to midnight, we embraced a unique New Year’s Eve https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year%27s_Eve . Gone are the days of battling through crowds at Harbourfront and Mississauga’s Celebration Square. This year, in our new condo, we chose a quieter, yet meaningful way to celebrate. Welcome to “From Our Balcony To The World: New Year’s Eve.”
Our anticipation was not for the grand public fireworks but for the intimate moments shared from our balcony. With the gentle rain as our backdrop, and the warmth of our home wrapping around us, we discovered that sometimes the most special sometimes happen right where we are.

New Year’s Eve : From Our Balcony To The World
This year’s New Year’s Eve was truly a different experience for us. We decided against going to Harbor front, remembering the stampede we had encountered in the past two years. With the memory of those harrowing experiences still fresh, our only goal was to avoid the overwhelming crowds.
Having recently moved to a new condo in May 2024, we would have needed to take a subway ride to downtown and back . However, we felt no urge to witness the fireworks in person. We briefly considered heading to Mississauga’s Celebration Square, but the fear of another stampede held us back. So, we stayed in our cozy home.

Despite the rain that poured all day, we dressed up and went for a fine dining dinner, savoring each bite. Afterward, we took a refreshing walk in the rain, letting the droplets wash away the remnants of the past year. Back home, we nestled into our couch and watched a heartwarming holiday movie.
As the clock struck midnight, we stepped onto our balcony, and watched the fireworks light up the sky. The view was breathtaking, offering us, many angles of the vibrant display. We spoke with my sistas, who called us from the United States , and captured the moment by clicking photographs.
The rest of the night was filled with the warmth of family, laughter, and the beautiful colors of the fireworks. We finished our movie, and fell asleep, waking up the late the next morning to a leisurely start. We completed our morning chores and visited the temple in the evening, wrapping up a day of peace and reflection.
This New Year’s Eve celebration was different, yet it was a heartfelt reminder that sometimes the best moments are those spent in the comfort of our own home, surrounded by love and cherished moments.
