A Harmonious Tribute : Chords Of Devotion

The main event takes place on Bagula Panchami day, marking the beginning of January with a harmonious tribute. As the concert begins, instrumentalists find their position at the beginning and at the end of the musicians, and all musicians and the public including the instrumentalists sit on the carefully laid out spread.

A mesmerizing pooja unfolds, enveloping the performance in a serene atmosphere. Male musicians in traditional veshti and angavastram take their positions on one side, while their female counterparts gracefully face them, creating harmony. The captivated audience joins in with heartfelt singing, uniting everyone in a celebration of sound and spirit.

The get-together of musicians jamming on the Pancharatna kritis to honor Saint Tyagaraja is such a cool experience! Everyone keeps the rhythm going while the instrumentalists wrap things up and the pooja at the sanctorum is happening. At the end of concert, there’s a special deepa Aradhana shown to God, the audience, and all the musicians.

Events like the Aradhana festivals are a huge deal in Tiruvaiyaru, but guess what? They’re celebrated worldwide too! A favorite place to join in on the fun is the Cleveland Tyagaraja Festival. Musicians usually hit the scene a few days before the big event, keeping the energy alive by jamming to some classic tunes by Saint Tyagaraja, and they wrap it all up with those legendary Pancharatna kritis.

Listening to this concert, whether on TV or streaming on YouTube, ignites an exhilarating wave of goosebumps, enveloping me in an overwhelming sense of devotion and unity. Ah! Crafting this blog content breathes life into my vision, intensifying the anticipation of experiencing this extraordinary event in person with each fervent word.
